Is the GSPCA the first Animal Shelter to have an electric van donated?

The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to Novamotion for the wonderful donation of an electric van and to Plug-N-Go.com for the charging point and JER Electrical for fitting the electrical charging point for free.

Novamotion has kindly donated a Renault Kangoo van to the GSPCA which is the first time the Shelter has had an electric vehicle which should help make savings of around £1,000 a year in fuel.

The new Animal Ambulance has just been kindly logo’d by Signrite and today is the first day the vehicle is in action.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We are so grateful to Sean from Novamotion for kindly donating the GSPCA’s first ever electric van.”

“The Renault Kangoo is wonderful and as an electric van is so quiet it is great to be able to hear how the animals are doing while they are being transported.”

“We are always trying to reduce our carbon foot print at the GSPCA and this van will certainly help us achieve this.”

“We must also say a very special thanks to Plug-n-go.com and JER Electrical who have together supplied and fitted a free charging point for us at the GSPCA.”

“With over 3000 animals through our doors every year we are kept extremely busy with many of these needing rescuing and this new van will help us respond to the emergency calls we get 24/7.”

“We believe this is the first ever electric van to be used by an Animal Shelter and we are so grateful to all that have made it possible.”

“Next week we have guided tours at the GSPCA and if you book and come along you may get a glimpse of the new van.”

“We are always looking at ways to become more green and eco friendly and always love to hear from those that can help us achieve this.”
